Welcome to the family!
Welcome to the freshman coming into pathway; we welcome you with open arms. In this tab, freshman are able to get an idea of what they will doing in the upcoming year. Some students may already have knowledge of the pathway and what we do from friends,family, or visiting the pathway. Here you can get a better understanding of our program and also hear feedback from current students or ones who have graduated.

Family
When you step foot into the classroom, you will get a feel that everyone is friends, but also we consider ourselves family. "A family born not by a bloodline, but bonded in life by a blue line." Most of you will grow another family out of your time here. You will have a chance to bond with one another over the years in the classroom, field trips, competition, or other events.

Experiences
Experiences you well get are all hands on and very few by worksheets. You well learn from hands on lessons plus lessons on worksheets. The main goal of the pathway getting you a foot into the door of what you want to do in the criminal justice field. Your experiences may include going to competition for Skills USA or with Harris County Sheriff’s office.

Courses
As a freshman, you will be taking Priciples of Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security or Intro to American Law. These are the Pre- requisites of the Legal Studies pathway. Your first and second years here will be beginners courses, and then if you choose Law Enforcement, you will be taking courses specifically for this career track.

The Future
In the future, you will be doing hands-on activities and gain more knowledge about this career field. You will be able to be certified as a corrections officer, a level II security guard, in CPR, and Teen Cert. You will also be able to join Skills USA, Honor Guard, and Harris County Explorers.
